MAKING TIME FOR KANBAN

Well we are coming towards the end of 2012, so this will be my last kanban posting for this year. I wanted to end the year on something that was not only dimensional but a working piece, plus the magic of Sugar Buttons.x

For this piece I used the following from the Sugar Buttons range:
The Ribbon border is from 90024 - Ballet Cuties
Buttons from 900921 - Princess Posies
Toppers from 900927 - Fairy Friends
Blue stripes glitter card
Blue micro gingham glitter card
Pink micro gingham card
Pastel bling

Additional materials:
12 x 12 inch canvas
Working clock movement
Liquid pearls (for the faux stitching

This second piece is just a simple little 6 x 6 inch card. Showing that with kanban you don't need to use much to get a great effect.

Pappilon glitter acetate
Pink micro gingham card ( a left over scrap from a previous project)
Topper is from 900928 - Once upon a time
Kanban self adhesive yellow pearls

All that is left for me to do is wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2012.xxx

STAMPING WITH KANBAN FOR THE DT

Hi Everyone

I thought I would go with a bit of stamping this week for my Kanban DT work.

This first card is stamped using the the Poinsettia stamp set plus one of the stamps from the Angel Stamp set.  All coloured with promarkers and the poinsettias have been decoupaged to give a lovely layered look and finished with distress ink for this vintage look.

This is my second card from the week, love this beautiful traditional robin stamp, but wanted to give it a modern funky twist with the pink and green using twinkling H2Os and various dies cuts using Kanban silver snowflake card 900512 and a pink metallic card

Pic 2 of the 2nd card

Really wanted to capture two extremes using Kanban stamps this week and hope you enjoy.

BEAUTIFUL BELLA FIORI FROM THE HOUSE OF KANBAN

A little late publishing this on my blog as it has been a manic few weeks, but time to catch up.

Last weeks DT piece is featured here made from the beautiful Bella Fiori kit.
I wanted to create a piece long the lines of a fashion house display to reflect this lovely kit.

MY FIRST KANBAN DT CARDS

After finally calming down the from the excitement of the week, I managed to pull my head together to create my first cards as a member of the Kanban DT.

DT1
Of course I had to go with the wonderful new Kanban Sugar Buttons by Kathryn using the following:

Topper was from sheet 900918
Sentiment from sheet 900920
Pink spots
Pink gingham

DT2

I love the colouring of these beautiful toppers and they are so elegant in their own right I did not want to overload the card. I used:

Moonlight Wish PCT9600 for both the topper and the sentiment
Kandi core Aqua CRD1832
Small star burst stamp from the Christmas Angel stamp set for the background.

I do hope you enjoy and would love to receive your comments.

SOFA CRAFTING WITH KANBAN

Having recently discovered the art of sofa crafting have become a bit addicted to some lovely kits I have come across.  This is an amazing kit from Kanban called Beside the Sea. I have had a ball playing with this, using my distress inks and glitters and of course my weathered edges.

Hope you like them.x

ITS BEEN A WHILE

It has been some months since I last blogged, but thought it was time to start getting back in the swing. Thought I would start with sharing these three creations all based around using the Satin Rouge kit from Kanban with three different looks

This has been teamed up with a Litle Claire Stamp

Kanban stamp used in this one.

This creation got the Mica Mist treatment and the sentiment is my own words.

I have always been negative about using kits but have to now admit that there really is alot that you can do with them.

LIFE WITHOUT MY GRAND CALIBUR

After getting up one morning ready to start a fresh card, I was gutted to find that the handle on my GC would not turn. As I picked it up to have look closer at it I heard a sound of dread.  Something metallic was rattling around inside. Next stop was a phone call to the supplier and they picked it up three days later, so just waiting hear if it is being repaired or replaced.

For some who makes most her cards based around using die cuts, its amazing how frustrating it is not to have it, luckily I kept my Big Shot (which I use with smaller dies and when I just want a one off piece), but it is much slower going and I have added a Cricut Baby Bug to my craft tools (which I am loving).

But I have struggled on without my Calibur and have created a few pieces without the GC.

This card made using 90% of black card and my twinkling H2Os.  They are an incredible medium to have.  The backing sheet, started life as just a cream paper with the black design.  I wanted the black imagery but not the colour.
I have used a mixture of Cricut cut shapes, spellbinders and lea'bility dies for this one.

With a Special Touch of Mica masks and a beautiful lea'bility die. This is a beautiful and slight quirky die that I see me using often.

Cut with my cricut, with an accent heart using  a Marianne die.

Join me in wishing my Grand Calibur a speedy recovery and return to home soon.

Happy crafting everone xx

WORKING WITH SPELLBINDERS - NOT A CARD

It started with finding an unloved green watering can in the loft.

I have absolutely loved making this piece, it has been a real labour of love over the last few days.  All the flowers, foliage and label on the can have been made using spellbinders (the letters are from Tim Holtz Vintage market alphabet).  The flowers are made from white printer paper, coloured with Distress Inks and highlighted with H2Os.  The foliage has been made from some cheap old green card I found in the back of my crafting cupboard and coloured with H2Os.

I had planned to take a few photos, but there was more work involved than I realised and I was concerned the WWW would not have enough space for them all. LOLx

Items Used:
Grand Calibur
Stick It Cool Melt Glue Gun
Spritzer bottle
Paint brushes
Large glue dots
White printer paper
Mid green card
2mm Florist wire
Florist tape
Spellbinder Dies
Blossom Three
Blossom Four
Rose Creations
Foliage
Labels 21
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Black Soot
Wild Honey
Dusty Concord
H2Os
Plum Crazy
Mango Mamba
Sweet Alfalfa

I think that has covered everything used.

I do hope you enjoy looking at this as much as I enjoyed making and all comments would be much appreciated.

FIRST CARDS OF 2012

I thought I would start the year with a couple of Valentine cards. Different styles on each one, I must admit I much prefer the word one.

I do think this a very cute Tilda and lends herself well for a valentines card.

I love this card with the black and white with metallic accents.  The little poem came to me whilst watching tv one night.

Thank you for looking!!
